Job Title: Chief Accountant

Location: 4th floor, KMC Extension office, One Ayala Mall, Makati, Metro Manila. Occasional visits to the site in Sual, Pangasinan

Contract Type: Full-Time Employment

Job Purpose

The Chief Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, statutory compliance, and internal control processes. The role will ensure accurate and timely financial information, compliance with Philippine accounting and tax regulations, and alignment with Singapore accounting policies and reporting requirements for regional operations.

The successful candidate will provide leadership in managing accounting activities, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring adherence to applicable financial standards, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements in both the Philippines and Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting

  • Oversee the preparation, review, and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Manage the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, and financial close activities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare management reports, financial analysis, and reporting packages for senior management and regional stakeholders.
  • Ensure financial reporting alignment with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), where applicable.

Singapore Accounting & Compliance Support

  • Provide accounting support and coordination for Singapore-based entities and ensure compliance with Singapore accounting policies and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain familiarity with Singapore regulatory requirements, including ACRA filings, GST, corporate tax requirements, and statutory reporting obligations.
  • Coordinate with Singapore finance teams, external accountants, auditors, and advisors to ensure timely submission of required reports and compliance documents.
  • Support consolidation and inter-company reporting requirements between Philippine and Singapore entities.

Taxation & Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Philippine tax regulations, including BIR filings, VAT, withholding taxes, and other statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate with tax advisors and auditors for tax compliance, audits, and regulatory matters.
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements affecting Philippine and Singapore operations.

Treasury & Financial Controls

  • Oversee cash management activities, including banking transactions, payment processing, and approval workflows.
  • Ensure effective internal controls over financial transactions and company assets.
  • Review and improve accounting processes, policies, and procedures to strengthen governance and operational efficiency.

Audit & Risk Management

  • Lead coordination with external and internal auditors.
  • Ensure timely preparation of audit schedules, supporting documents, and financial records.
  • Address audit findings and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Maintain proper documentation and compliance with company policies.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and mentor accounting personnel to ensure effective execution of finance operations.
  • Collaborate with management, project teams, and regional finance teams on financial matters.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
  • Relevant accounting and finance experience, preferably with exposure to renewable energy companies or regional site operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine accounting standards, taxation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Singapore accounting policies, SFRS, ACRA requirements, GST, and corporate compliance.
  • Experience handling full sets of accounts and financial reporting.
  • Experience with accounting systems/ERP platforms such as Xero and Quickbooks systems.
  • Experience supporting cross-border transactions, intercompany accounting, and regional reporting is an advantage.
