PACIFIC IMPACT APPOINTS EPC CONTRACTOR FOR 50 MW CAPANTOLAN SOLAR PROJECT
Pacific Impact Development has awarded China Energy Engineering Group Zhejiang Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. (ZEPDI) as the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor for the 50 MWp Capantolan Solar Power Project in Pangasinan, Philippines.
The EPC contract signing marks a key milestone in advancing the project from development into mobilisation and construction readiness.
ZEPDI is a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CEEC), a global energy engineering and construction group with extensive experience delivering large-scale power and renewable energy infrastructure worldwide. Through this partnership, Pacific Impact will leverage CEEC’s technical expertise and international project delivery capabilities to support the successful execution of the Capantolan Solar Project.
The Capantolan Solar Project was awarded under the 4th Round of the Philippine Department of Energy’s Green Energy Auction Program (GEAP) and will contribute to strengthening the Luzon grid while supporting the country’s transition toward cleaner and more secure energy sources.
With the EPC contractor now formally engaged, the project is entering the mobilisation phase, with final site inspections, surveys, and coordination activities underway among Pacific Impact, financing partners, and the EPC team ahead of construction works.
Once operational, the project is expected to generate approximately 83 GWh of clean electricity annually, offsetting around 37,000 tonnes of carbon emissions each year while contributing to the Philippines’ renewable energy targets.
Pacific Impact led the project from early-stage development through to award, overseeing site identification, land due diligence, permitting, grid studies, stakeholder engagement, and ESG integration. The appointment of the EPC contractor represents another important step toward delivering a bankable, utility-scale renewable energy project.
Commercial operations for the Capantolan Solar Project are targeted for Q4 2026.
Pacific Impact continues to advance its pipeline of renewable energy projects across Southeast Asia, supporting the region’s energy transition while delivering long-term value to investors, partners, and local communities.
