PACIFIC IMPACT AND SUSI LAUNCH RENEWABLES PLATFORM
PACIFIC IMPACT DEVELOPMENT AND SUSI PARTNERS LAUNCH SOUTHEAST ASIAN RENEWABLES PLATFORM
Pacific Impact Development (Pacific Impact) and SUSI Partners (SUSI), in a newly formed Joint Venture, have launched a platform for the development of utility-scale renewable energy assets in the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos and other Southeast Asian markets. The platform will focus on the greenfield development of solar photovoltaic (PV), wind, and hydro assets continuing through the financing, construction and operation of the assets.
Pacific Impact, which has a local presence in all the target markets, will act as the developer and project manager for the platform. The joint venture will be able to draw on the Pacific Impact team’s longstanding experience in renewable energy development as well as SUSI’s deep investment expertise to ensure that projects meet the highest standards in responsible project delivery.
“We have a unique platform in Southeast Asia with a strong local presence in all of our target markets which we are planning to leverage to help identify strong project opportunities for the Joint Venture,” says Eric Miller, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pacific Impact Development.
“The buildout of renewable energy capacity in Southeast Asia needs to accelerate significantly for regional climate targets to remain within reach and it will require increased cooperation between international capital, investment managers with regional experience, and local project developers. Together with Pacific Impact, we can provide clean and affordable energy to people in the region while ensuring that the infrastructure buildout happens in an environmentally and socially sustainable way,” says Wymen Chan, Head Asia at SUSI Partners
Pacific Impact Development is a privately held regional developer of renewable energy assets founded by key members who have been working together since 2015 as a developer in Southeast Asia. The project team has decades of experience in the development, implementation, and investment of renewable power solutions in the region and beyond. They have developed a portfolio of projects, including Huc Wind, Endikat Hydropower, Indonesia Wind Portfolio, all of which are currently under development, the Kandal Cold Storage project, currently under construction in Cambodia, and the Smart Solar project, presently operating in the Philippines.
